David Copher grew up in the Texas hill country near Austin, Texas. He spent his life around horses, cowboys and the rodeo. Extensive travels include: North America, Central America, and South America. Today the artist spends his time creating fine art. David also performs as a clown barrel man and cowboy poet in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. David bases himself out of Santa Fe, New Mexico since 1989.
His artistic influences include: Western lifestyle, Western landscape, American Modernism & Architecture, Archeology of the Americas, Native American Design, Allen Houser, Doug Hyde, Frank Howell, and Dan Namingha.
The artist continues to show in: corporate collections, private collections, galleries, and museums across the country. A brief list includes: Professional Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame Museum and the Braford Brinton Memorial Museum.
